What is rush week?

Rush week, also known as recruitment week, is a period of time in which college students have the opportunity to join fraternities or sororities. During rush week, potential new members (PNMs) attend events and social activities hosted by different Greek organizations to learn more about each group and determine which one they may want to join.

Rush week typically consists of a series of formal and informal events, such as mixers, meet-and-greets, informational sessions, and social gatherings. These events provide PNMs with the chance to meet current members of the organization, learn about the group's values and traditions, and ask questions.

At the end of rush week, PNMs may receive bids from one or more Greek organizations. Some institutions have a formal recruitment process, while others may have a more informal or continuous recruitment process throughout the academic year.

Rush week is an important time for both potential new members and Greek organizations, as it allows students to find a community and support system on campus while providing organizations with new members who share their values and goals.
